Neck stifness and arm pain due to nerve compression. after cspine xray b12 test dr suggest prothiaden, isn't it anti depresant? don't want to take it.

It is: In the US Prothiaden is not approved but other medications like Elavil or Nortriptyline which are similar to Prothiaden. In low dosages, I do use these drugs to help with chronic pain including that pain associated from nerve irritation which you may have. If you are comfortable in taking this medication there are other alternatives you may like better. Please seek with your medical provider
