Use another Abic: Amoxicillin is not an appropriate antibiotic for treating boils as it does not cover any strains of staphylococcus aureus, the most common cause. Dicloxacillin or Keflex would be a better choice. Add septra (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) if MRSA is a concern.
