Should i lance a dental gum boil (abscess) at home? i just began amoxicillin yesterday?

You can: It will give you relief and you are on an antibiotic, however you need to see a dentist to treat the cause of the gum boil. Which is usually afoot canal problem.

No: The "gum boil" is the result of infection trying to move to the area of least resistance. If you pop it at home without supervision then you risk spreading the infection. Amoxicillin typically takes 2 - 3 days to work. If it is not painful then be patient for a couple of days, it may go away. If not call your healthcare provider.
