No less than 8: At the age of 10, your child is still growing. Sleep is the time when growing takes place the fastest. Although, there may not be a certain number of hours "approved" for this age, the consensus, though, would be no less than 8. Excessive staying in bed is not good either, so 8-10 hours would be ideal.
