Saline: Babies sleep on their backs and if the nose is full of phlegm then it is going to drip backwards causing the baby to cough. It is very helpful to use Normal Saline to irrigate the nose of the mucus. It the wet cough lasts more than 10 days or she develops new fevers or seems to have any difficulty breathing she should be reevaluated by her physician.
