I have had the flu for 7 days, the cough is still there and it is choking me and i can't breathe it's especially worse when laying down, whats wrong?

See doctor ASAP: It sounds like you have a fairly serious infection. Pneumonia sometimes complicates influenza, and severe flu by itself sometimes causes breathing problems. If you happen to have underlying lung disease (e.g. asthma) or heart disease, that also could be responsible. See a doctor ASAP; if you're short of breath at rest, go to an emergency department immediately.
