I did MRI Lumbar spine found : moderate to severe stenosis of the thecal sac at L4/5 and L5/s1, multilevel lumbar facet degeneration most marked at the L4/5 ,Sacroiliac joint degeneration change .what is the treatement to the above probleme ?

MRI scan shows posterior disc protusion at L5 S1 level after medication/ rest it is fine very litle pain now at lower back/Leg. Doc says surgery?
Xray revealed narrowing of L5 s1 disc space. Doc said this does not explain pelvic and lower back pain. Insists on blood test instead of mri. Odd?
