A member asked:

I have a question about my dad. he lost his sense of taste 4 days ago, but not his sense of smell, what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Different nerves: There are 12 cranial nerves that serve the body. Smell is negotiated by the olfactory nerve, taste is by another nerve altogether (although reduction in olfaction reduces taste). A consult with a neurologist is in order, good luck!
