May be whitish : It may not be totally closed yet. You may have a whitish film over the extraction socket. Depending on the extent of the surgery, there maybe a loss of jaw bone in that area of your mouth. Please call your dentist about your particular situation or if you have excruciating pain at this point. Take care...

Open and pink: After only 4 days the socket is usually still open if not sutured closed. Color should be similar to surrounding tissues in most cases if healing uneventfully.
