PCOS and pregnancy: Pcos often causes infertility, however with vigorous proper treatment many women can get pregnant. Everyone is different. Pcos is often associated with being overweight, excess androgen secretion, hyperinsulinism, metabolic syndrome and hormone abnormalities. It is advisable to see specialists with a major interest in pcos. Diet, weight control, ample exercise and medications are indicated.

Fertility in PCOS: Metformin is in essence a fertility treatment in your case as it helps with enhancing ovulation through several mechanisms. I think you should discuss your concerns with an endocrinologist with interest in fertility to rule out other conditioned that can "mimic" pcos.
