I have knots of inflamation in the back of my head causing headaches that will not go away any suggestions and can this be serious?

Muscle spasm: Sounds like spasm of the trapezius spasm. Heat and otc nsaisds may help. Your pcp could put you on a muscle relaxer like Baclofen or zanaflex (tizanidine).
