Severe dysmenorrhea: Dysmenorrhea=painful menstruation that interferes with daily activities. This menstrual pain can be sharp, throbbing, dull, nauseating, burning, or shooting in character and may precede menstruation by several days or may accompany it. It can also occurs with excessive blood loss. Since your symptoms are severe and adversely affecting you, i advise seeing doc for eval. Motrin may help. Good luck.

See a doctor: This could be due to endometriosis, a condition that usually affects younger women initially, but can be seen in anyone who is still having cycles. Other conditions affecting the ovaries, such as cysts, and even conditions affecting the uterus, such as fibroids, could cause this too. A good history and physical exam by your gyn is the place to start.
