Usually, does melanoma cause pain in the mole itself or around it?

Melanoma: The first melanoma signs and symptoms often are: 1) a change in an existing mole 2) the development of a new pigmented or unusual-looking growth on your skin melanoma doesn't always begin as a mole. It can also occur on otherwise normal-appearing skin. Melanomas rarely cause any pain.

Unusual: It would be very unusual for a melanoma to cause any symptoms especially an early one. Perhaps on rare occasions one may experience itching, bleeding, or tenderness if it were larger, ulcerated, and advanced in terms of stage.
