Depends: We need to know the age of the child and reason for the fever, other symptoms, etc. Fever is a symptom, not a root cause; treating just the fever at home without proper evaluation could be dangerous, especially with a high fever. That being said, the appropriate dose of tylenol (acetaminophen) would be reasonable to help with the fever right now, but i would take her to the er if it is a high one.
