Right away!: You're ready for your braces right after you're deep cleaning. Congratulations!

Immediately: Although brackets will probably not be placed at the same visit as your deep cleaning, there is no specific time that needs to pass before you can begin.

It varies: It's best that your teeth not be sensitive and your gums healed up enough and without any bleeding or inflammation before you continue with orthodontic treatment. This varies from patient to patient and is best answered by the dentist who performed the deep cleaning, along with the input from your orthodontist.

Individual: Should be decided between your dentist and orthodontist.

It depends...: You might be good to go after a week or two or you may even have to repeat the cleaning. The objective is to get your gums healthy enough to get braces. Excellent brushing and flossing will speed the process.

Depends: That decision will need to be made by the dentist putting the braces on. As long as the gingival inflammation is resolved and there is no periodontal concerns, braces can be placed.

Depends: Typically, we want the patient to caries free for one year. That way they become ninja like at cleaning and flossing before the real challenge begins with all the extra hardware is in.

Gum health/ braces: The amount of time you may need to wait after having a deep cleaning before placing braces depends on the initial condition of your gum or "periodontal" health. If mild inflammation exists then you would need to wait a short time, a couple of weeks, to allow the inflammation of your gum tissue to resolve. If the condition is any worse than mild then follow-up may be necessary.

Ask the dentist: When you present yourself to your dentist for your cleaning procedure, ask their opinion as to when braces should be placed. Next, communicate with your orthodontic specialist to verify. Typically, braces can be placed within days after a cleaning procedure.
