Get a Derm Consult: Melanoma typically is pigmented and has a dark color. It can regress due to your body's immune response to it. However, you should not take a chance trying to diagnosis this yourself. Melanoma is a deadly disease and early detection can lead to a cure. Delayed detection can be fatal.

No: Not all lesions are cancerous. Some lesions are the result of an inflammatory process either due to a foreign body reaction (granuloma) or just accumulation of an inflammatory reaction to patient's own tissue. In such cases, body itself resorbs these abnormal growths. Viruses can also cause a reactive process in the form of a lesion.

No: Moles don't disappear nor does melanoma -- so that's a good sign.

Unlikely melanoma: Melanoma does not resolve spontaneously. If you have not done it yet, i would bring it up to the attention of your general practitioner the next time you see them.
