Gas?: If you had a ct scan and it was normal, this could be referred pain from one of the internal organs that is referring to the right side of your abdomen or gas pain. The bowel moves a lot and the pain is a visceral pain which is much different than the superficial tactile pain we're used to and moves around based on movement and function of the internal organs.

Yes: If you are reasonably lean and can relax your abdominal muscles, you should be able to find your caecum. Your appendix is on the bottom. Any second-year medical student can tell the caecum from a concerning abdominal mass.
