Changed each patient: Any part of the laser handpiece that comes into contact with a patient's skin is either changed each patient, or sterilized between patients. There are parts of a laser handpiece that do not touch the patient and are not necessary to be changed. Just like the dentist, either new tools or sterilized tools are used for each individual patient--the same goes for a well-run laser surgeon's facility!
