Information!: I don't get your point, gum disease affects about 60% of the population and is mainly due to neglect: poor hygiene and few professional cleanings. These are the facts, it is up to you to take care of your gums and teeth. I understand you don't need to know this but millions do. What you call it scaring the public, i call it informing the public. Best wishes.

Gum disease is a good example because it is often painless until the disease is advanced. If you had to choose between being scared or alarmed about your gum condition at age 37 or needing dentures at 47, which would you prefer?
