Is chewing gum bad for health or good for health ?

Sugarless is good.: Chewing sugarless gum is actually good for your dental health. This is because chewing gum increases saliva production. Saliva helps wash away any food particles left over in your teeth, lowering your risk of tooth decay.

Both: Gum with sugar can cause cavities. Excessive chewing can cause jaw and muscle pain and lead to tmj\tmd problems. Gum with xylitol has been shown to reduce bacteria that lead to acid formation and caries (cavities). Discuss these issues with your own dentist for the best advice for your particular circumstances.
