See below: I assume you have a urinary tract infection. Nitrofurantoin is only a urinary antiseptic it does not achieve therapeutic levels in tissues so if you have a tissue invasive infection it will be ineffective. It has a lot of serious toxic side effects and i try not to use it if I have any other alternative antibiotics that will be effective. Get your doctor to prescribe a tissue active antibiotic.
