A member asked:

What steps can i take at home to decolonize staph?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Staph aureus: The best thing to do is to be tested for MRSA carriage and if positive have your doctor attempt decolonization. Staph is seldom transmitted from inanimate objects so normal cleansing of your home should be adequate. One is unlikely to eliminate staph aureus entirely. It is often part of our normal bacterial flora and does not produce infection unless circumstances predispose.
