Depends...: It depends on the antibiotics and the extent of the infection as well as sensitivity of the staph to the antibiotics. Antibiotic-resistant staph, such as mrsa, are also common. But usually there should be a visible improvement in most cases of staph aureus skin infections after 1 to 2 days.

Usually a few days: If the bacteria are sensitive to the antibiotic and the dose is proper and the medication has been taken properly it should show improvment in a few days.
