Lots of things: Unfortunately, your description is not detailed enough to be of true help to you, but there are a wide range of diseases that can appear in the salivary glands. These range from reactive (stones), inflammatory/immune (sjogren's/igg4 disease), to neoplastic (tumor). A thorough discussion with the doctor who ordered the biopsy should be quite useful.

Blocked Duct: Not enough information to answer your question. If a duct is partially or fully blocked, it will not allow the saliva to get through and by retaining it then the gland will swell. Trauma and medication can also cause swollen salivary glands. Other options for swelling also are reasonable, however this needs careful evaluation by the physician that can be there with you.
