A member asked:

I have small fiber neuropathy diagnosed by skin biopsy. i have had a swollen submandibular salivary gland and lymph nodes on the left side of my neck for the past 5 years, no salivary stones present or blockage. could there be a correlation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The neck issues are almost certainly a co-morbidity and not the cause of your small fiber neuropathy. About 60-70% of etiologies can be pinned down during the initial testing, but it may take time in other cases. A second opinion is often useful.
