It may be baby: Some patients can retain baby teeth into adulthood. A local dentist can take a look at the tooth itself and take a radiograph to let you know for sure. If it was your adult tooth, you may have serious periodontal problems. Call the dentist either way.

Spontaneous loss: Most probably it was an over-retained baby tooth, with no underlying permanent tooth, that finally fell out. Pleases schedule a Dental appointment.
