Urate crystals?: Many new babies have a rusty stain in the diaper that is easily mistaken for blood. It is usually urate crystals - a common finding that will go away. But always stay on the safe side with new babies. Call your pediatrician or family doctor and check this out with them. You may want to talk to the consulting nurse at your childrens hospital.
