Blood sugar: It is the most accurate way we have of knowing about blood sugar control at the moment of testing. Urine can't be quantified for sugar that way. Even if it could be, urine is accumulated over hours. If there is sugar in your urine you won't know when your sugar was high enough to spill into urine. You could have a low or normal blood sugar now & have sugar in urine now from a high hours ago.
