YES!!!: The best way to normalize the blood sugar is by losing about 5 to 10% of current weight, depending on how heavy the child is. Usually type 2 diabetes is related to resistance to insulin, not lack off Insulin like in type 1 diabetes. It would be ideal to combine a healthier lifestyle and eating habits to achieve this. Forget dieting because by definition, all diets end and weight is regained usuall.
