is there a cure for type 2 diabetes. if not then can you control it with a healthy diet and exercise only and no medications?

No, yes: There is no cure. Yes you can control it with proper diet (no added sugar, limiting carbohydrates), exercise, losing weight, lowering blood pressure. For some, this is enough but most people require medication.

Cure Yes: Weight loss and exercise can reverse type 2- adult onset diabetes. Proper diet, low in processed foods and high in fiber can lower blood sugars. Exercise increases sensitivity to insulin as does weight loss. Weight gain increases resistance to insulin and hence diabetes.
