No: Germ-cell-like tumors on the omentum may arise from another site. However, their exact type, rather than their origin, will determine how they are to be treated. The prognosis may be better than for a coelomic-type tumor.

Ovarian cancer: Most likely it started in the ovary. Primary germ cell cancers of the omentum are even more rare than ovarian germ cell cancers. Hopefully, the gyn oncologist that did the surgery removed all visible tumor so only 3 cycles of chemo are needed.
