Yes, but not bad 4 u: Fish oil may raise LDL by 5-10% yet reduces risk of heart disease. This is because more important than total LDL is the number of LDL particles & their density. Fish oil lowers the number of LDL particles & increases their size, both of which reduces risk of atherosclerosis.See <a href="<a href="http://www.Drweil.Com/drw/u/qaa400434/is-fish-oil-bad-for-ldl.Html. Yes: Fish oils contain two active omega-3 fatty acids, dha and epa. Most fish oil products are a blend of these two fatty acids. Dha + epa frequently increases LDL cholesterol in a dose dependent manner (the higher the dose, the greater the increase). Recent studies show that purified epa (without dha) decreases LDL cholesterol with significant reduction seen at a 4 gram per day dosage.
