Depends on Omega-3: New research shows a different effect of epa on LDL versus dha+epa. Traditional fish oil products are dha+epa combinations and frequently raise LDL levels. Epa only has a unique effect of lowering LDL at higher doses. Thus, the answer of how fish oil impacts LDL depends on the composition of omega-3 in a specific product.
