It depends: It depends on the nature of the stress, your resilience, and your resources for support. In general, getting consistent rest, healthy meals, and exercise will help. Also meditation practices can help. Directly addressing and dealing with the issues contributing to your stress are essential. Discussing your personal situation with a therapist may help you pull things together.

Stress: To address stress: talk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Cut out junk carbs, caffeine ; alcohol (or moderate). Try qi gong, tai chi, acupuncture, acupressure, homeopathy, meditation, yoga, exercise program, deep breathing exercises or progressive muscle relaxation.

Don't let it...: ...make you sick. Chronic stress, a mainstay of modern life, doesn't merely exacerbate disease, it can cause it. Here are a few: 1) the common cold; 2) weight gain; 3) slower healing; 4) sleep dysfunction; 5) heart disease; 6) depression; 7) ulcers & other GI problems (like Irritable Bowel, indigestion/dyspepsia, flares of Crohn's/ulcerative colitis); 8) back, neck, &shoulder pain.
