Stay active: Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. Your body releases endorphins during exercise, which can help you feel calm. If you exercise 30 - 60 minutes a day, your stress levels can improve. When stressed, take 5 slow, deep breaths with your eyes closed, then roll your shoulders forward 5 times, then back 5 times. This will slow your heart rate and release tension in your neck and shoulders.

Can stress relief cause periods?

Yes and no: Your monthly cycle is a pretty huge investment of energy by your body. Being overly stressed (or exercising vigorously) can cause your body to go into survival mode, including having your periods become irregular or even stop in order to conserve energy. Reducing stress can allow your body to resume normal functioning, including allowing your periods to become regular again.

Heres a few.: Try deep breathing exercises, acupuncture, tai chi & aerobic activity. Aerobic activity can help to release muscle tension & cause brain release of endorphins. Consider a brisk walk, jogging, running, swimming, cycling (doing it in the midst of mother nature is all the better). Take care.
