Could : Could be. Iron is vital for the production of healthy red blood cells which is the transporter of hemoglobin throughout the body. Iron is an essential component of hemoglobin. If you are deficient in iron, then chances are your body is not recieving the oxygen it needs to replenish your body. Fatigue and weakness are signs of anemia (low volume of healthy red blood cells). Also, after long runs you need to ensure that you drink plent of fluids and take vitamins regularly to keep your electrolytes balanced. There are sports drinks on the market dedicated for this reason. Allow your body to recover after a long run. It is essential you allow your body to recover to reduce short term and long term injury.

Perhaps: From one crazy runner to another: you may be pushing too hard. It sounds like you perceived effort is a 10. I'd suggest you invest in a heart rate monitor to watch your training and see your doctor to make sure your heart status is ok. Note if you are looking to cross train and things check out ok you should consider insanity and asylum training programs. Really helped my running.
