See below: Thoracic pain after a motor vehicle accident may simply be sprain as diagnosed. Thoracic segmental dysfunction where the facet joints (joints where the vertebra stack on top of each other) are slightly out of alignment can result in a sharp pain with rotation/deep breath. Posterior rib subluxation is possible as well. Thoracic disc herniation remains a consideration. Pain persists- see your doc.
