Yes: Yes it can help symptomatically.. Some find that a heating pad helps.. Try both, which works best for you at this point ?

Icing Can Help: Back Pain can be managed effectively and can be relieved in a vast majority of people, but it will always require diligence on your part with ice/heat, nsaids, exercise, stretching and weight control/loss. For those still having issues it may require treatments (injections, surgery, etc) to maintain relief as well. Recommend seeing a spine specialist if you are not improving.
