A member asked:

Macular amyloidosis confirmed by skin biopsy from the pigmented patch on lower thigh. what is the line of treatment and prognosis .? can it spread ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good prognosis: Macular amyloidosis is a local proliferation on the skin usually on the trunk as you have. It never spreads too much or into the blood. The treatment may be as simple as temovate (clobetasol) ointment twice daily to local cortisone injections, local liquid nitrogen, dermabrasion or laser treatment.
