Visit your surgeon: 5 days after a third molar extraction you should still be sore, but starting to feel better. If this is the case continue following your post treatment instructions. Remember, you had a surgery involving sensitive bone and oral tissue. If you are in more pain, you may have a complication and should followup with your surgeon.

Better or not?: By this tome you should be able to say "this is better today than yesterday". If there is no improvement at all then there is a complication, maybe a "dry socket", that needs to be addressed.
