Is there a certain fruit or vegetable that may help lower blood pressure?

Not really: There is no particular fruit or vegetable that is proven to lower blood pressure. Fruits have lots of sugar and starch, which can lead to pre-diabetes (not good for the cholesterol or arteries). Vegetables would be a better bet, but one should avoid high salt (sodium) items. Avoid adding salt during cooking, because salt increases blood pressure. V8 vegetable juice has a low sodium variety.

Being: Vegetarian and avoiding salt, soy sauce, cheese, meat is the best way. Animl protein contains salt. Grains like brown rice, veg (not potatoes), beans, fruit, (unsalted) nuts, &seeds are the way to go 90 + % of the time. www.tthepmc.org.
