Dry tongue: Your mother may sleep with her mouth open and that would cause a dry tongue. Some medications also cause a dry moth/tongue. There is a gel that you can buy over the counter which you put in your mouth right before going the sleep. It really works-i use it. The sore s on her tongue may be canker sores, she should see a dermatologist.
