Depends: Recurrent hernias are unfortunately a fact of life. Recovery period is highly dependent on the complexity of the operation. Just make sure your surgeon will be changing something regarding the technique. If it didn't work once, you don't want to repeat the problems of the past. 2 to 3 months: It's usually a 2 to 5 day stay and no lifting for at least 2 months. Some may have to have drain tubes for few weeks. Need to discuss with ur surgeon.
