Bulge with Exertion: A recurrent ventral hernia should look & act pretty similar to what is was like before surgery. However, the presence of mesh and scar tissue can make examination a little trickier. If you think you have a recurrent hernia, you need to see a hernia surgeon for a formal evaluation.
