Palate: There are many salivary glands that could cause benign tumor formation in that area. This area should be evaluated and biopsied as soon as possible. Oral & maxillofacial surgeon or ENT can perform this.

Maybe a tori: It appears that you might be describing a tori. This is a bony growth in the jaw bone. It is not cancerous and can become sore if it is traumatized by hard foods. However, see your dentist for a thorough evaluation.
