Could be a torus: Could be a tori, a bony growth on your palate, but i would recommend you consult your dentist.

Ask a dentist!: This could be several things. Important questions: how long has it been there? Does it change, hurt or bleed? You said it hurts; how badly and how often? Do other things irritate it? Does it match other formations in your mouth? Your dentist or oral surgeon can get you started in the right direction.

Contact your dentist: See your dentist to ascertain if this is related to your dentition or gingiva. If the dentist finds that all is sound dentally, you may be referred to an ENT for a more definitive diagnosis.
