What tests were done: A doppler (ultrasound) test would be the first test to determine if there is a clot or if there is any vascular concern. Other things cause cramps besides the circulation. Nerves can be responsible for this as well. It can be nerves compressed along the lower limb but it can also be stemming from the back. If this is interfering with your day to day activities, get checked properly.

Talk to doctor.: It sound more like muscle strain or overuse injury. If still concerned request the doctor send you for a duplex ultrasound scan.
