Med side-effect?: It is possibly a medication side-effect although you have to consider that she has something completely different. Depression can cause some memory problems. Thyroid problems can also have some of these effects. It is a bit early for dementia but this is certainly a possibility. Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider.
