Yes: It takes a few weeks typically for a home pregnancy test to become positive, so you might want to repeat it in a couple of weeks or so.

Possible / unlikely: You could conceive and have a negative pregnancy test for up to 7 to 10 days. After 10 days the upt should be positive.
