16-24 oz: There has been some research on this, and most pediatricians recommend 16-24 oz of milk per day. A child from 1-2 years old should have whole milk. Over 2 years old, you should drink a low fat milk. There have been health benefits associated with milk including assisting in weight loss, calcium and vitamin d supplimentation etc.
